  As a rule of thumb, I buy almost everything used. I have never had a problem at Tradeland. I stop in once every week or so to see what is new, mostly for tools but I have my circuit that takes me through the collectibles, guitars, and electronics, too. The tools I have bought have all performed fine and I like that they warranty them and that I can return them (haven't needed to, but it is good to know.). Yes, prices are often high relative to Craigslist, but Tradeland offers more value with the return policies and also not having to run around to go and get stuff like you do when you buy off CL. So, there is their Value Prop. Even with that, if you hunt around and check back in often you can find good prices on stuff. The owners will push a bit with a sales pitch at times, but just politely let them know you are there to browse and they won't hound you. A couple of the younger guys know the guitars better and one was up front with me and pointed out a hairline crack in the top when I saw what seemed like a phenomenal deal on an acoustic guitar. I appreciated the honesty and walked away. I also like that they sell gift certificates. Knowing my affinity for used stuff, I will get 1 or 2 a year as gifts and I just keep them in my car to have whenever I stop in. My only wish is that there was more changeover in inventory. They have been dropping prices lately so, hopefully, some of the older items will start moving.
